Where Is Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends?
Guests of Disney’s Riviera Resort only need an elevator ride to experience Topolino’s Terrace. Sweeping views of Disney World are wonderful from both inside the restaurant and the outdoor terrace.
Since Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast is at a resort, not a theme park, getting there requires pre-planning. Caribbean Beach guests have a short walk, while those staying at Pop Century or Art of Animation can take the Disney Skyliner.
Staying somewhere else? Take a ride share, drive yourself, or take a bus from your resort to a theme park then transfer to a Riviera Resort bus.
Topolino’s Terrace Character Breakfast Overview
Step off the elevator onto the 10th floor and find yourself surrounded by rich browns, warm wooden furniture, cream and gold accents, and stylish character inspired art. All these design elements make for an elevated character meal atmosphere versus someplace like Chef Mickey’s.
Pro tip: Topolino’s Terrace is open for breakfast and dinner, but characters are only at breakfast. Dinner is a more formal affair with no characters.
Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast Menu
Guests often rave about the food at Topolino’s Terrace character breakfasts. The food is certainly higher quality than Disney World breakfast buffet character meals, but it isn’t fine dining.
The best part of Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends is that meal comes to your table. Plated character meals are more convenient than buffets which require timing food runs between characters.
Breakfast Pastries And Coffees
Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends starts with a selection of muffins and croissants plus hazelnut spread, jam, and butter. The croissants are delightfully light and flaky, but the muffins are unremarkable.
Topolino’s offers traditional drip coffee, specialty coffees, and even a press pot Riviera resort blend served in a French press. We like a stronger cup of coffee and were excited to try the Riviera resort blend in the press. Unfortunately, we found it not much better than the less expensive drip version.
Our Favorite Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast Entrees
Choose from an assortment of traditional, yet elevated, breakfast entrees. We’ve tried a few different options and these are our favorite Topolino’s Terrace breakfasts.
Quiche gruyère is a tasty egg and gruyère quiche with pancetta. The gruyère taste is mild, but the pancetta and onion bring a richness to the dish. It’s served with breakfast potatoes and field greens with a lemon vinaigrette.
Looking for a simple breakfast option? Two eggs any style with bacon, ham, or sausage and breakfast potatoes is a great traditional breakfast. Our eggs are consistently cooked well and the crispy fingerling breakfast potatoes are delicious and filling.
The fluffy sour cream waffle is crisp and topped with flavorful roasted apples. The orange infused maple syrup brings a distinctive flavor, which we like best in small doses. Finish your meal with bacon, ham, sausage, or plant-based sausage.
French toast brûlée completes our favorite Topolino’s Terrace breakfasts. A crispy, caramelized sugar coating covers a delightfully thick french toast and then is finished with seasonal compote. Again, choose a breakfast meat to complete your meal.
Portions are reduced compared to when the restaurant first opened. For example, now choose one breakfast meat when previously you got a sample of each. Guests were also allowed to order more than one entree included in the breakfast cost, but that’s no longer the case.
Understandably, some people have complained about these changes. However, we still find the breakfast pastries plus entree are similarly filling to a restaurant breakfast.
Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends Characters
The characters attend a special art school with each one training in a different discipline. Adorable costumes match each of their arts. Characters circulate through the entire restaurant stopping to visit each table.
Periodically all four characters disappear to prepare for their big introduction. Each character makes a dramatic entrance through the main doors of Topolino’s Terrace where they are introduced over the speakers. From there they dance and parade through the restaurant before resuming table visits.
Artist Mickey has a bright orange beret and paint smattered smock showing dedication to practicing his art.
Writer Minnie Mouse has an adorable newsprint inspired dress. I love that she has an oversized pen and notebook peeking out of her pocket so she’s always ready when inspiration strikes.
Dancer Daisy craves the spotlight in her vibrant teal wrap top and bright pink tutu skirt as she twirls through the restaurant.
Sculptor Donald has a blue beret, striped shirt, and clay dusted smock complete with sculpting tools in one of the front pockets.
Our Topolino’s Terrace Character Breakfast Experiences
Topolino’s Terrace is a lovely atmosphere for a character meal and the outfits are absolutely adorable. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy stop by each table and interact with guests. They even sign keepsake items like our autograph pillowcases or autograph ornaments.
However, in our experience Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends character interactions feel more rushed than other character meals.
While Tusker House Daisy flounced over and spent time showing off her accessories, Daisy at Topolino’s appeared quickly, posed for a photo, signed, and was then off to the next table.
Topolino’s Donald did the best job at our table, sneaking up and rubbing my husband’s shaved head which surprised him and made us laugh.
Compare this to Tusker House Donald who helped himself to our empty seat, “complained” how hard he works, and then decided he needed to rest with us for a bit.
How Much Is Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends?
Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast costs $45 per person for those age 10 years and older. Kids age 3 to 9 years old cost $29 per child.
How Do I Get Topolino’s Terrace Character Breakfast Reservations?
Disney World dining reservations open 60 days before your first day. On-site guests can book at 60 days for the duration of their stay. Those staying off-site must make dining reservations one day at a time at the 60-day mark.
On-site guests can usually snag Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast reservations for later in their trip. Off-site guests are at a disadvantage and can have a hard time making reservations.
If you aren’t able to make a Topolino’s Terrace character breakfast reservation at 60 days, keep checking the app to see if additional reservations open up. If that isn’t working you can pay for services that alert you when reservations become available.
Is Topolino’s Terrace Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends Worth It?
Topolino’s Terrace character breakfasts have an elegant atmosphere, good food, and are an especially good choice for those staying at Caribbean Beach, Riviera Resort, Pop Century or Art of Animation.
Breakfast à la Art with Mickey & Friends is a quality character meal option, but if you are unable to get a reservation don’t despair. While Topolino’s Terrace character interactions are enjoyable, they are far from the best we’ve experienced at Disney World.
For those visiting Animal Kingdom and staying at non-Skyliner Disney World resorts, Tusker House is a great alternative.
Tusker House is a fun character meal with many of the same characters, but is easier to reach using Disney World transportation. The food is a less impressive buffet, but our character interactions with Mickey, Goofy, Donald, and Daisy have always been lots of fun.
