Looking for a special place for Disney World pictures? Cinderella Castle is the most popular photo location in Magic Kingdom, but there is also a hidden photo studio just steps away. Sir Mickey’s Photo Studio at Magic Kingdom is a perfect place to get portrait studio quality photos at no additional cost.
Where Is Sir Mickey’s?
Between Cinderella Castle and Fairytale Hall is Sir Mickey’s, a shop with an assortment of princess themed merchandise. When entering Sir Mickey’s walk to the right and at the very end of the store is a PhotoPass photo studio.
What Is Sir Mickey’s Photo Studio?
Designed to look like classical stone archways looking out on a serene cartoon forest, Sir Mickey’s photo backdrops are perfect for princesses. My teenage daughter is too old, per Disney policy, for costumes, but she still loved posing in the pretty backdrop.
Find two stations and Disney PhotoPass photographers on-site at the studio. Wait outside the doorway and the photographer invites you in for complimentary photos.
The PhotoPass photographers do a great job of coaching guests through poses. Often they’ll ask your favorite princess and include special Magic Shots. For example, I said Tiana was my favorite princess so I got a special photo with Naveen perched on my hand.
A large selection of props help ease nerves and make a great accent to photos at Sir Mickey’s. When asked, Elizabeth said Belle is her favorite princess. Based on her response the photographer handed Elizabeth a beautiful leather bound book for some fun photos.
How Much Is Sir Mickey’s Photo Studio?
There are no fees to use Sir Mickey’s PhotoPass Studio and sessions are complimentary. However, you do need to purchase the images.
If you’ve purchased Memory Maker, or the photo add-on for annual passes, all pictures from Sir Mickey’s are automatically loaded into your My Disney Experience account. These pictures show up just like other PhotoPass and attraction photos where you’ve scanned your Magic Band or ticket.
Do I Need To Book Reservations For Sir Mickey’s?
Sir Mickey’s Photo Studio does not require a reservation which is a rare treat at Disney World. Wait times are generally low, but certain times can get busy. If there is a long line I recommend riding an attraction or meeting princesses before trying the studio again.
I imagine Sir Mickey’s popularity will grow once Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reopens. This may mean longer waits for portraits in the future.
Final Thoughts On Sir Mickey’s PhotoPass Studio
If you have splurged on Memory Maker for your Disney World trip I highly recommend stopping in for pictures at Sir Mickey’s. Conveniently located, Sir Mickey’s Photo Studio is great place to capture special memories with a quick and complimentary photo shoot.
Although Sir Mickey’s is a good option, the best Disney World Photo Studio is actually at Disney Springs. If you have time and want incredible photos visit Disney Springs PhotoPass Studio for both green screen and portrait studio pictures.
