Magic Kingdom Boo Bash: Is Disney World’s Halloween Event Worth It?

Disney World has announced a new Halloween event for 2021, Magic Kingdom Boo Bash. This special ticketed Magic Kingdom After Hours event combines ghoulish decor, treat stations, and low crowds for a spooky good time, but is the extra ticket worth it?

What Is Disney After Hours Boo Bash?

Disney After Hours is a type of special event that Disney World has hosted in the past. Guests purchase an After Hours ticket which gives them access to theme parks late at night with low crowds. Disney After Hours Boo Bash provides a fun Halloween themed version to replace Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party in 2021.

What Makes Magic Kingdom Boo Bash Special?

Low Wait Times

No one likes waiting in lines. Disney After Hours events have fewer guests than a normal day so attraction wait times are usually much lower. Not all rides are available during the event, but many popular attractions are part of the Halloween fun.

Halloween Character Cavalcades

Your favorite Disney characters decked out in their fanciest Halloween costumes will cruise by as a special surprise through the night. I’m guessing that cute costumed characters will pop up from time to time around the park, too.

Special Halloween Lighting And Decorations

In previous years, Magic Kingdom has had special lighting and music for several classic attractions during the Halloween party. This plus Halloween lighting on Cinderella’s Castle and throughout the park sets a slightly spooky mood.

Disney World hasn’t announced what special lighting and decor Magic Kingdom Boo Bash 2021 will have yet. However, I am hopeful several favorites from the Halloween party will return.

Ride overlays, which are Halloween versions of rides, have been great fun during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. The lights and special soundtracks should be a safe and easy thing to continue for Boo Bash.

Halloween PhotoPass Experiences

It looks like some of the fun Magic Shot Halloween photo ops from MNSSHP will be part of Boo Bash. One of my favorite pictures from years past is one with the Haunted Mansion hitchhiking ghosts. I’ll keep you posted as we know more about which special Halloween photo ops are available at Boo Bash.

Guests Of All Ages Can Dress Up At Boo Bash

Normally only kids 13 years old and younger can wear costumes at Disney World. During Boo Bash older kids and adults join in on the spirited fun by dressing as favorite characters. Find out Disney World’s specific costume rules here.

Candy Stops

Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party trick or treating is legendary, so it’s no surprise treats will be part of Boo Bash. I’ll update as we find out more information.

Cadaver Dans Performances

Better known as Dapper Dans, these amazing singers transform into costumed ghouls during Boo Bash. Cadaver Dans always put on a great show, and it’ll be good to see them back in their Halloween best for a chilling performance.
