Disney’s Magical Express is a staple for most Disney World vacations. On-site Disney World Resort guests still have access to Disney’s Magical Express for the rest of 2021. Starting January 1, 2022, all guests are responsible for securing their own transportation to Disney World. For those planning a trip who need transportation, I recommend Tiffany Towncar for rides to Disney World, Universal Orlando, and Port Canaveral from Orlando Airport.
What is Disney’s Magical Express?
Disney’s Magical Express is a free motorcoach shuttle for guests staying at eligible on-site Disney World properties. Magical Express transports you from Orlando International Airport to your Disney World resort and back.
Pre-register your arrival with Disney’s Magical Express for an easier experience. If you have properly registered in advance you will receive a packet in the mail at home.
This packet has a welcome letter and detailed information on how to find Disney’s Magical Express at Orlando International Airport. This letter with bar code is also your ticket to board the Magical Express. If you forget your letter at home you can use your Magic Band or government issued photo ID to check in to Disney’s Magical Express.
How do I register for Disney’s Magical Express?
If you have booked your flight to Orlando before reserving your Disney World vacation package, simply provide the flight information to Disney World or your travel agent. They can enter that information as part of the Disney World reservation process.
I generally book my Disney World trip well before my flight. This means I need to get the information to Disney’s Magical Express later.
- U.S., Puerto Rico, or Canada residents may use the Disney Magical Express website or call Disney at (866) 599-0951 (or your travel agent) directly.
- If you reside elsewhere please call Disney (866) 599-0951 or your travel agent to register for Disney’s Magical Express.
Make sure you pre-register for the Magical Express. Registering will ensure you have transportation to your hotel upon arrival.
Day Of Arrival
Once you arrive at Orlando International Airport, follow the signs for Ground Transport and Disney’s Magical Express.
An important change to Disney’s Magical Express: All guests need to collect checked luggage prior to going to Magical Express. International guests must collect checked luggage and proceed through customs.
Disney’s Magical Express has a large, easily identified check-in area. Staff scan your letter or Magic Band to confirm your resort stay and Magical Express registration. You are then directed to the appropriate line for your resort motorcoach.
Disney’s Magical Express coaches often serve more than one resort. I mentally allow a travel time of 90 minutes from Orlando International Airport to my resort.
Once you have boarded Disney’s Magical Express enjoy the air conditioned comfort. Here you can watch videos about what to expect at the parks and classic cartoons.
Day Of Departure
The night before your pre-registered return flight, an envelope arrives to your room. This packet outlines the pick up time and location for your trip back to the airport.
Pickup times are about 3 hours ahead of a domestic flight and 4 hours before an international flight.
Meet your motorcoach with all of your luggage at the designated spot and time. You will be whisked back to the airport for your flight home.
Final Thoughts
We appreciate the convenience and cost savings of Disney’s Magical Express. It is one of the reasons we like to stay on-property at Disney World. Having complimentary pre-arranged transportation from the airport to our Disney World resort is a nice perk.
