Storybook Dining at Artist Point With Snow White Character Meal Review

Character dining is one of our favorite activities at Disney World and Disneyland. Starting December 16, 2021 Disney’s Wilderness Lodge again hosts Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White. Find out why Storybook Dining with Snow White is a unique character dining experience that I highly recommend.

Reservations for Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White open December 2, 2021.

Location

Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White is located in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. Artist Point restaurant has been transformed into an enchanted forest with some of the most loved (and feared) characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Check-in for Storybook Dining with Snow White is towards the back of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The desk is past the large fireplace in the lobby and then to the left. The check-in desk has a very small sign and can be easy to miss.

Large, leafy tree canopies line the ceiling. Strands of lights wound throughout the branches lend ambiance to the Enchanted Forest themed dining room.

Several times during Storybook Dining with Snow White music plays and the lights change color to fit the mood of the music. For example, the lights all turn to red when The Queen re-enters the restaurant after a break.

Snow White, Dopey, and Grumpy all take a spin around Artist Point when either “Whistle While You Work” or “The Silly Song” plays. As these characters march around the restaurant the lights twinkle in different colors.

When you arrive at your table the napkin ring is a special apple cutout with all four character autographs on the back. This is a cute keepsake, and Elizabeth uses hers as a bookmark.

The Food At Storybook Dining At Artist Point With Snow White

The food at Storybook Dining with Snow White is the best character meal food we have ever eaten. The three-course meal has shared appetizers, individual dinner entrees, and shared desserts.

The appetizers and desserts are served on an adorable revolving tray. The tray looks like a small tree with three large, flat leaves to hold the serving platters.

I think it is important to warn parents with small children that the meal is not fast. Our meal took about 90 minutes for all three courses and meetings with four characters. However, between the songs, characters, and three courses of food we felt the time flew by.

Storybook Dining With Snow White Appetizers

The shared appetizers at Storybook Dining at Artist Point are Winter Squash Bisque, Hunter’s Pie, Wicked Shrimp Cocktail, and From the Garden.

The Winter Squash Bisque is served in a small cauldron with a caramel marshmallow lolli. The bisque was better than I expected, but the strong spice undertones kept it from being my favorite appetizer.

The Hunter’s Pie was my husband’s favorite appetizer. The Hunter’s Pie appetizer is a chicken patty seasoned with black truffle inside a puff served with stone fruit preserve.

I’m not usually a seafood person, but the Wicked Shrimp Cocktail was my favorite appetizer. These spicy and creamy sauced shrimp are served cold in a canister with greens. I loved the mix of heat from the Thai Chili and the cool crisp greens.

Storybook Dining With Snow White Entrees

The adults opted for the Brother’s Grimm Roasted Chicken and Bashful’s Butter Poached Sustainable Fish for our “Core of the Story” entrees. Elizabeth had the Royal Prime Rib Roast off “Grumpy’s Grub” children’s menu.

Brother’s Grimm Roasted Chicken is a chicken breast with attached partial wing  served over confit potatoes, roasted brussels sprouts, and apples. My dinner was so good I ate every bit of it.

Mr. Smart Mouse also enjoyed his Bashful’s Butter Poached Sustainable Fish. This dish will have a different fish depending on your day, but should be just as delicious. His fish was served over wild mushroom risotto with a tasty citrus butter sauce.

Elizabeth’s prime rib was cooked to a perfect medium. Her prime rib was tender with minimal fat or waste and is served with roasted potatoes and broccolini.

Storybook Dining With Snow White Desserts

The desserts are shared just like the appetizers. There are four dessert options: Miner’s Treasures, “Poison” Apple, Fairy Tale Gooseberry Pie, and The Hunter’s Gift To The Queen.

Dessert was my least favorite course at Storybook Dining At Artist Point with Snow White. Unfortunately nothing was safe with Elizabeth’s allergy to all corn products. She ended up with a big bowl of beautiful fruit but was still disappointed since the presentation of the desserts is so appealing.

Find out more about dealing with food allergies at Disney here.

The Miner’s Treasure is layers of sponge cake, a light buttercream frosting, and chocolate “gems” with a white chocolate hat adorning the top of the glass. This dessert was okay, but nothing special.

Next are the beautiful red “Poison” Apples. These “Poison” Apples are white chocolate apple mousse with sour apple pellets in the center of the mousse. This treat was my second favorite dessert.

The surprise favorite dessert at Storybook Dining with Snow White was the Gooseberry Pie. I’d never had Gooseberry Pie before, but it tastes like a traditional apple pie. Although not the most exciting dessert to look at it was certainly the one we both liked best.

The most impressive dessert presentation was The Hunter’s Gift To The Queen. The server brings an ominous glass box filled with smoke to the table and then dishes out crackled maple popcorn and chocolate ganache hearts. The showmanship was great, but this dessert was also unremarkable.

Some menu items have changed recently. Please check here for the most up-to-date menu at Storybook Dining with Snow White.

Storybook Dining With Snow White Specialty Drinks

We opted to try two of the alcoholic specialty drinks at Storybook Dining at Artist Point, Evil to the Core and Enchanted Apple. The Enchanted Apple is a traditional apple martini of Skyy Citrus Vodka, DeKuyper Pucker Sour Apple, and White Cranberry Juice.

Evil to the Core was a little more interesting with Patrón Silver Tequila, habanero, blackberry, and orange juice as the ingredients. The habanero gave the drink some interesting flavor without being too spicy.

Storybook Dining At Artist Point Characters

There are usually four characters at Storybook Dining with Snow White: The Queen, Snow White, Dopey, and Grumpy. Please note: characters are not guaranteed and are subject to change. Although the same characters return when Storybook Dining reopens the experience will be different.

Expect distanced character experiences at Storybook Dining similar to those we’ve had at Topolino’s Terrace and Chef Mickey’s since Disney World reinstated these character meals.

Snow White

It should be no surprise that meeting Snow White is a lovely experience. She was kind to all of us and loved Elizabeth’s autograph pillowcase. Snow White even suggested that if Grumpy had a pillowcase like it maybe he wouldn’t wake up on the wrong side of the bed.

The Queen

A large and beautiful storybook is the background for photographs with The Queen. Our server instructed us to meet The Queen after completing our dinner, but before leaving Artist Point.

The Queen is certainly not the most welcoming host, but grudgingly meets with you in a not too scary way. When Elizabeth gave her the Disney autograph pillowcase to sign The Queen asked what it was. The Queen thought it odd someone would “want to sleep on my penmanship” but signed our pillowcase anyway.

When it was my turn to meet The Queen she immediately complimented me on my fashion sense. I was glad she recognized my very subtle Disney Bounding.

Dopey

Dopey was adorable. When he arrived at our table he stood behind me and gestured for me to take a selfie with him. He even taught me his signature ear pose for one of the pictures. After our selfies, he went around to the other side of the table to sign Elizabeth’s autograph pillowcase before hugs and more photos.

Grumpy

Elizabeth decided that Grumpy probably doesn’t get as much attention as the other characters so she made him a sweet note. Grumpy arrived at our table and seemed extremely displeased to see us. However, as soon as Elizabeth gave him the note he warmed up and even gave her a super awkward hug.

Storybook Dining At Artist Point With Snow White Cost

The cost of a three-course meal at Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White is $59.99 per adult and $39 per child at time of publishing based on the updated menu.

Final Thoughts On Storybook Dining With Snow White

Storybook Dining at Artist Point with Snow White is different than your usual character meal. The special Snow White characters and excellent food make this a truly memorable character dining experience. The food at Artist Point is the best character meal food we have ever eaten. This is true even though dessert was disappointing after impressive cocktail, appetizer, and entree courses.

We also loved that Storybook Dining at Artist Point allowed us to meet Snow White, Dopey, Grumpy, and The Queen. The dwarfs and The Queen are not easy to meet at Disney World, so this was a fun treat.
